When did Apex Legends come out?

Apex Legends release date, the original launch, download paths, and what happened to the mobile client.

Apex Legends came out on 4 February 2019. That is the release date for the game people still play on PC and consoles. The shorter query apex legend usually means the same title, not a different product. It launched as a free-to-play battle royale from Respawn Entertainment, published by Electronic Arts, with a surprise release rather than a long public beta on every platform. The date does not move when a new season starts. Seasons, maps, and legends are updates on top of that 2019 launch.

If you are returning after a few years, the client you download today is the live game, not a separate “2019 version.” Use Steam or the EA App on Windows PC. The PC guide covers the install and the shader wait that follows a large download. This site’s cheat listing is only for that Windows client.

Download versus a third-party loader

Apex legends download should mean the official client. Apex Cheats, if you buy it, is a separate checkout after you already have the game. Do not run a random executable that claims to be both the game and a cheat. Finish the official install, reach the lobby, then read status if you are evaluating the store. Weekly, monthly, and lifetime plans are software access, not a replacement for the game download.

A season update can be several gigabytes. That size is not a new release date. Read patch notes for what changed, and maps for how rotation works. A “new map 2026” headline, if you see one, still needs an official source. This site will not invent one to sit beside the 2019 date.

Apex Legends mobile

Apex legends mobile was a separate phone game. It shut down in 2023. It is not the current way to play the PC or console game, and it is not a platform Apex Cheats lists. Searches still appear because old articles and app-store memories remain. If you want to play today, use the live PC or console client. Do not install an unofficial mobile rebuild from a video description. This site does not host one and does not claim the phone game is coming back.

Phone controls, touch HUDs, and the mobile roster from that period are history. Legend balance on PC, including characters such as Alter, is the live roster in the current client. Do not copy a 2022 mobile tier list onto the PC game. Pick rates and ranks are measured on the live platforms.

  • Release date: 4 February 2019
  • PC download is Steam or the EA App
  • A season patch is not a new launch
  • The mobile game shut down in 2023
  • Cheat access is not the game installer

Population after launch

The game has had large peaks at launch and again when seasons land. Today’s number moves. Steam charts show only Steam. The player count guide explains trackers and server status so you do not treat a 2019 headline as this week’s population. A server outage in 2026 has nothing to do with the original release week.

Skins have shipped continuously since launch. They are still cosmetics, as the skins page says. A launch heirloom and a current shop item do the same kind of job: they change appearance. They do not change Easy Anti-Cheat, which the anti-cheat page describes without a bypass claim.

If you are here for the PC product

The product question is younger than the game and separate from it. Apex Legends cheats on apexcheats.net list player ESP, aimbot, loot ESP, and radar for Windows PC. Prices are $15 weekly, $35 monthly, and $150 lifetime. Plans compare them. The 2019 date does not discount or extend those plans.

Play the official client first. Learn a map and a legend. Then, if you still want the listed software, use the store and the status page. Loot and radar and ESP explain modules. Cloud DMA and HWID Spoofer stay optional related products. None of them change the day Apex Legends came out.

Use the date, then leave it alone

4 February 2019 is the sentence you needed if a friend asked when the game launched. After that, the useful dates are season starts and the mobile shutdown in 2023. Put them in a note so old videos stop confusing you. A clip from the phone game, a clip from Kings Canyon in year one, and a clip from this season are three different sandboxes. Settings, legends, and even some map edges do not transfer. When a guide will not say which client it means, close it. This site means the current Windows client unless a sentence is explicitly about history.

Download that client from Steam or the EA App, let the first shader pass finish, and play a match before you evaluate any third-party page. The release date does not entitle you to a discount, a rank, or a bypass. It only explains why the game already has years of maps, skins, and rank resets. Player-count spikes still happen. They are not launches. Server incidents still happen. They are not launches either. If you keep the 2019 date in one drawer and today’s patch in another, both the history search and the product search get shorter.

Should you still want the Windows listing after you have played, the store is a different drawer: $15, $35, and $150, plus separate related products. Status sits on top of that drawer every patch day. The mobile client stays shut. The official PC client stays the way you play. That is the whole story of “when did Apex Legends come out,” extended just far enough that the next search you type is a current one instead of another rumor about a phone port. The launch date itself does not move.
